Grand Challenges Explorations funds early-stage research on scientific problems that could lead to advances against multiple diseases and address global development and communications challenges. This program encourages bold experimentation and unorthodox thinking to expand the pipeline of ideas on how to fight the greatest health challenges facing the developing world. The program seeks "out of the box, daring in premise, off the beaten track" ideas that could lead to new vaccines, diagnostics, drugs, and other technologies targeting diseases that claim millions of lives every year. RESOURCES FOR FACULTY
The Office of Corporate & Foundation Relations (CFR) works with Georgetown faculty who are planning to approach corporations and private foundations. The CFR office can research information on foundations that would be a strong fit for a faculty member's research, and provide targeted lists of potential funders. CFR also assists faculty throughout the grant proposal cycle by reviewing proposals and letters of inquiry, providing editorial assistance, and helping gather materials and formal university documents for submission.
